In what sounded like the description for a major movie trailer, Superintendent Matt Thompson was early today with his call to parents/families and students about the cancellation of school for the remainder of this week.
"You thought this week was almost over. You thought this call might never come. But he calls. He always calls ...," Thompson said jokingly in announcing students will not return to the classroom this week.
Due to continued road conditions with snow and ice, Thursday, Jan. 29, and Friday, Jan. 30, will be NTI Days (Non-Traditional Instruction Days).
"Watch the movie this winter everyone is talking about ... NTI parts 7 and 8," Thompson concluded.
It was announced at the Montgomery County Board of Education meeting Jan. 27 students will go to school on Presidents' Day, Feb. 16, as a make-up day. Another day was mentioned as an option, March 6, but no formal decision was made on March 6 at Tuesday's board meeting.
