Rambo isn’t ‘paws’ing his run in the America’s Favorite Pet Contest.
We are happy to report he completed another round of competition last night, finishing not only in the top five, but first in his group!
Group finals are now ongoing through Feb. 12. IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO VOTE NOW!
Public voting will help reduce total competitors to one preliminary winner in each group finals group who will then advance to the quarterfinals.
It’s a lot of voting, yes! But your participation has a number of benefits. The more we shed light and you share Rambo we are hopeful he finds a forever home!
He’s one of the shelter’s longest residents and the shelter doesn’t understand why he hasn’t been adopted.
Rambo has been a shelter resident more than 400 days. He’s friendly, good with other dogs and loves pig ears, Montgomery County Animal Shelter Director Adam Grubb said. Someone take this sweet boy some bones!
Secondly, by voting and donating through the America’s Favorite Pet contest, you are helping other animals. America’s Favorite Pet is partnered with PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society) to aid in its mission to help cats, dogs and wild animals thrive in happy, healthy homes or in their natural habitats. Since 1967, according to promotional materials, PAWS has unified more than 130,000 cats and dogs with loving families, nurtured more than 140,000 sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and made the world a better place for countless critters.
If Rambo wins he will be featured on the cover of Modern Dog Magazine and the shelter will receive $10,000. Rambo was living his life as a stray when the shelter took him in. That $10,000 would go a long way in the shelter helping other animals in need!
