The ball began at 5:30 p.m. with a receiving line which included the cadet adjutant Eric Lim, the battalion commander, C/LTC Tristan Taulbee, the guest speaker, Alex Lyttle, Regional manager and Whitaker Bank and his wife, Syliva, the MCHS JROTC Senior Army Instructor, Colonel Edward Stepanchuk, the mayor, Al Botts and his wife Joanna Botts, American Legion Post 22 Commander Tim Welch, Billy Webb representing the Sons of the American Revolution, Lucile Hardin representing the Daughters of the American Revolution, Montgomery County School Board Member Allie Webb and his wife Linda, MCHS Principal Holly Lawson and Army Instructor Staff Sergeant David Moore, High School Security Officer Steve Trimble and his wife Jennifer, Chris Barrier, former our Senior Resource Officer, and his wife Beth, Tina Overstreet, president of Whitaker Bank, Mt. Sterling, and her husband Dwight, the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, recruiters, SSG Joe Benson, and Army National Guard recruiter, Clarence Wooten.
The meal included baked chicken along with pasta salad, baked potatoes, sweet corn baked and dinner rolls. For desserts there were a variety of flans made from both Vera’s and Enriquez’s mothers, cookies made by cadet Aubreyanna Porter, German apple crumb cake made by Yvonne Taulbee and cheesecake. It was a beautiful evening and a very memorable event for all of the cadets and guests.
Sponsors included the American Legion, the Ladies Auxiliary, Whitaker Bank, Living Water Church and local Kroger. This year’s ball has been a wonderful success, a release said.
