Hospital event celebrates local cancer survivors

Posted

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling hosted Cancer Survivorship Day Sunday, Sept. 7, bringing together local survivors, families, caregivers and community members to celebrate the strength, resilience and hope of those who have faced cancer. The free community event took place from 1 to 3 p.m. at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, 225 Falcon Drive.

Cancer Survivorship Day featured a picnic lunch and activities, including crafts and a photo booth for survivors and their families. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with others, they heard inspiring stories and learned more about local resources that support the cancer journey, from diagnosis to survivorship, a release said.

“We are honored to celebrate the remarkable courage of cancer survivors in our community,” said Shelly Rogers, APRN, Saint Joseph Medical Group–Cancer Care, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling. “Cancer impacts so many lives, and this event is a reminder that no one walks this journey alone. Survivorship Day is an opportunity to gather in hope, show support, and recognize the strength of those who inspire us every day.”
