Emergency pet safety alert from shelter

From the animal shelter:

EMERGENCY PET SAFETY ALERT
EXTREME COLD IS HERE. Temperatures are dropping into the teens and single digits, creating DANGEROUS and LIFE-THREATENING conditions for pets left outdoors.
BRING YOUR PETS INSIDE — NOW.
No animal is safe outside in this weather. Hypothermia and frostbite can occur quickly, even with shelter.
Please check on pets in your neighborhood and elderly loved ones. If you see an animal left out in these conditions, report it immediately.
Bringing them inside could save their life.
