Art dept. positions won't be cut at MCHS

From the Gateway Regional Arts Center:

Important Update: Thank you to the more that 400 community members who shared support for the MCHS Art Department. After their meeting tonight, we are thrilled to share that the SBDM voted NOT to cut the second art teacher position!

We are deeply grateful for Principal Holly Lawson who is a true champion of the arts in our school system, as well as the SBDM for recognizing the need for expanded arts activities at Montgomery County High School. We are very fortunate to live in a community where the arts are a vital part of our education, and we’re thankful for our community partnership with Montgomery County Schools. These are difficult times in education as funding continues to be cut - we at the Gateway Regional Arts Center stand ready to continue partnering with our public schools to extend ALL the arts opportunities to ALL the students!
