REMINDER:
The 109 Board (also known as the Solid Waste Board) meets tonight.
The meeting time is is at 6 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex.
Advocate Reporter Tom Marshall will be on hand and we will have full coverage in this week's Advocate.
The board is expected to discuss public feedback about the Rumpke landfill. At its last meeting, the board asked the public to submit comments about whether proposed plans for an expansion on Orear Road are consistent or inconsistent with the existing solid waste plan.
The Advocate reported last week Solid Waste Coordinator Donny Pennington said the 109 Board received more than 60 comment letters, but only 16 were consistent with the question asked.
Several letters came in after the deadline. Most of the letters were opposed to the landfill. The board did receive 10 in support and several asking for a higher tipping fee.
