James Alvin Breeding, 94

May 16, 2025

James Alvin Breeding, 94, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital Mount Sterling.
Born July 9, 1930 in Claiborne County, Tenn., he was the son of the late Scott and Lizzie McCollough Breeding.  He retired from General Motors as a truck repair mechanic after 41 years.  He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army.  He touched the lives of many through his unwavering faith, strong work ethic and the presence of his quiet, gentle spirit.  His passion was fixing things and mechanical repairs.  He liked to read, loved the Lord, spending time with his family and watching Kentucky basketball.  He had a witty sense of humor and had us laughing all the time.  He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include daughters, Sherry Wilson (Keith) of Mt. Sterling and Diana Rutta (Bob) of New Zealand; grandchildren, Amy Wilson, Lisa Wilson, Brian Wilson (Angela), Rebecca Wilson, Robert Rutta (Tanya), Benjamin Rutta (Bethany), Elisabeth Rutta and Sarah Hewson (Nathan); and great-grandchildren, Julia Wilson, Ava Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Jonah Wilson, Marlon Redifer, Joel Rutta, Lydia Rutta, Abigail Rutta, Andrew Rutta, Nathan Rutta and Rebekah Rutta.
