Posted

From the Mt. Sterling Police Dept:

On 03/28/2026 around 5:00 p.m., K9 Officer Tristain Powell pulled over a vehicle for a seat belt violation. During the stop, he noticed signs that this was more than a routine traffic stop. After getting consent to search the vehicle, the officer allegedly found 114.53 grams of suspected methamphetamine, split into four baggies. The passenger reportedly admitted the drugs were theirs and was charged, a release said.

This was a significant amount of methamphetamine stopped before it could reach our community. The Mt. Sterling PD remains dedicated to keeping dangerous drugs out of town and will continue to go after those trying to bring them in, a release said.

Great work K9 Ofc. Powell!
