It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffery Grant Helton, 61, who departed this life peacefully, Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Born March 19, 1965, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Wendell and Anna Centers Helton. A proud resident of Mt. Sterling, he dedicated over 25 years of his life to his work as a mechanic and body man for Dutch’s Chevrolet. A skilled tradesman, he was known for his problem-solving abilities and his unwavering commitment to his craft. His love for automobiles was only surpassed by his passion for life and the joy he brought to those around him. He was a man of many interests and passions—an avid fan of UK basketball and the Pittsburgh Steelers, he found joy in cheering for his teams and engaging in spirited discussions about their performances. He loved playing golf, attending demolition derbies and experiencing the thrill of drag racing. His zest for life was infectious, and he could often be found sharing jokes and laughter, embodying the spirit of camaraderie in all he did.
Survivors include his siblings, Rebecca Henderson, Debbie Helton, Michael Helton and Kelli Helton; nieces and nephews, Tiffany Patrick, Daniel Henderson, Febe Wesley and Pepper Haney.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his nephew, Cody Henderson.
