Benson Franklin Lowe, 91, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at home with his family around him.
Born Aug. 10, 1934, in Carter County, he was the son of the late Warren and Mary Rose Lowe. He was a retired truck driver and faithful member of the Freedom Church of God.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jones Lowe; daughter, Kathy (Todd) Frazier of Olive Hill; three sons, Ronnie Lowe and Timothy (Pat) Lowe of Olive Hill and Warren Joseph “Joe” Lowe of Mt. Sterling; three stepdaughters, Carolyn McMullen of Mt. Sterling, Priscilla Havens (Dwight Holley) of Jeffersonville and Mary Elizabeth Jones of Winchester; six grandchildren, Darin Oney, Tabitha Dyer, Jessica (Wess) Brown, Kaden Frazier, Megan (Tanner) Branham and Tyler Lowe; four step grandchildren, Kelly (John) Planck, Shania Havens (Kyle Nickell), Nicholas (Brandi) Jones and Tori (Nathan) Merryman; four great-grandchildren, Reanna Brown, Stevie Ann Dyer, Tegan Branham and Tarren Branham; two step great-grandchildren, Alec Thomas (Kaitlyn) Hunter and Braiden Gage Nickell; step great-great-grandchildren, Blake Gilvin and Montana Hunter; and sister, Polly Webb.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jama Lou Lowe; brothers, Bill Lowe and Kermit “Buster” Lowe; sisters, Helen Williams, Geraldine Owens, Eula James and Wilma Jean Montgomery; and daughters-in-law, Kristy Lowe and Bernita Lowe.
Service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 28 at the Freedom Church of God, 3600 Levee Rd. with Pastors Hoss Prater and Kelly Poe officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Planck, Alec Thomas Hunter, Kyle Nickell, Nathan Merryman, Chris Rust and Nicholas Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tegan Branham, Kaden Frazier, Dwight Holley and Jared Green.
