Anita Faye Rothwell, 71, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, May 11, 2026, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
Born April 18, 1955, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Banks Ritchie. She loved to sew, work puzzles and spend time with her family.
Survivors include sons, Junior Rothwell (Gina Mae) and Richard Rothwell, both of Mt. Sterling; daughters, Dorothy Chandler (Robert), Barbara Crump (Paul) and Amanda Strange (Joseph), all of Mt. Sterling; a brother, Donald Ritchie of Camargo; sisters, Connie Hall (Richard) of Camargo, Nancy Ritchie of Means and Minnie Ritchie of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Rob Chandler (Alex), Scotty Nester (Amanda), Stacy Anderson, Alex Rothwell, Haley Rothwell (Dalton), Chase Rothwell, Joe Rothwell, Maddi Chandler and Hannah Chandler (Grey); and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rothwell Sr.; brothers, Danny Ritchie and Bobby Joe Ritchie; and sisters, Dorothy Byrd, Diane Ritchie and Shirley Rothwell.
Service was conducted Friday, May 15, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Evans officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scotty Nester, Joe Rothwell, Alex Rothwell, Chase Rothwell, Ricky Byrd and Joe Strange.
