First Friday Market kicks off

Barbara Taul, left, and her granddaughter, Callah Reed, looked over some of the items for sale June 6 at the First Friday event downtown. The event drew a considerable crowd despite a threat of rain throughout the evening. Tourism Director Tracy Pearce said the city has never had to cancel a First Friday event due to weather since its inception in 2016.

They could design the book cover based on a particular character or create their own. The Library of Alexandria was project was part of the library’s Fantasy Faire held June 5. Ten book covers were on display for the faire on a book case at the event. This year was the first year for the project.
