Laura Sexton, 74, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.
Born Jan. 19, 1951, in Marion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Beecher and Ethel Ann Vaught Ward. She dedicated her life to caring for and spending time with her family as well as her friends. She was a wonderful Mom and Grandmother. She was very artistic and loved painting. She was a member of the Heritage Christian church.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Roger Sexton; daughter, Rebecca (Daniel) Willoughby of Jeffersonville; two sons, Michael Lee (Patricia) Sexton of Campton and John Scott (Kim) Sexton of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Nathan (Cheyenne) Sexton, Matthew (Kassidy) Sexton, Megan (Codie) Sexton, Brandon Sexton, Shelly Sexton, Trevor Ward, Isaac Sexton and Luke Sexton; six great-grandchildren, and with God’s blessings, many more to come; a sister, Bonnie Bourne of Jeffersonville; brother, John Beecher (Debbie) Ward of Greenville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Service was conducted Friday, May 30, at the Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Chris Shaw officiating. Burial was in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Sexton, Brandon Sexton, Matthew Sexton, John Sexton, Nathan Sexton, Daniel Willoughby Jr. and Trevor Ward.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Arnett, Isaac Sexton and Luke Sexton.
Funeral services entrusted to the care of Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals.
