Bessie Lou Stalker Belcher, 84

Bessie Lou Stalker Belcher, 84, of Jeffersonville, died Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Mount Sterling St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Oct. 29, 1940, in Draffin, in Pike County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Osie Bartley Stalker.
She worked for the Montgomery County Board of Education for over 30 years as a lunchroom cook/manager at Camargo Elementary.  She enjoyed feeding the many school children there.  She loved her children, husband of 65 years, and adored her grandchildren. She loved raising gardens and canning beans.  She loved helping others.  She was a member of the Camargo Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Katrina (Walter) Hiler of Jeffersonville and Yvette (Shane) Rogers of Mt. Sterling; a son, Thomas (Shawn) Belcher of Mt. Sterling; two grandchildren, Andie Rogers and Marissa Belcher;  two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Rogers and Liam McBeath; a sister, Pearlie Huff of Mt. Sterling; and a brother, Elster (Carol) Stalker of Elkhorn.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Belcher; three sisters, Murline Stalker, Florence Stacy and Helen Lore; two brothers, Bill Stalker and Clyde Stalker; nephews, Rick Stacy, Michael Paul Stalker, Adam Stalker and Harrison Stalker; and a great-niece, Tabitha Lester.
Service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 29, at the Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Robin Meyer and Wesley Delk officiating. Visitation will be 12 noon -2 p.m., Thursday.  Burial will be in the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Pallbearers will be Brian Adams, Brian Covington, Harold Hescock, Carter Stacy, Mike Stacy and Paul Adams.
