Patricia Louise Troutman McClanahan, 82,  passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
She was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Mt. Sterling. She was a lifelong resident of the area, where she dedicated herself to her family, her work, and her faith.  She was a familiar face to all the kids at the high school, where she worked as a cashier in the cafeteria.  Beyond her professional life, she was deeply rooted in her community as a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she fostered connections that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.  Her family was her greatest joy.  Known for her infectious laughter and unwavering spirit, she was a source of love and strength for all who knew her.  Saturdays were a special time for her, as she relished in the joy of dancing and square dancing, a tradition that brought her immense happiness.  She also delighted in collecting Boyd’s Bears, and often spent hours solving jigsaw puzzles, reveling in the challenge and satisfaction they brought.  Her love for adventure took her to Gatlinburg, where she created lasting memories during many family vacations.  She especially treasured her time spent rummaging through yard sales with her mother, a pastime that brought them closer together and filled her home with unique treasures.  With her warm heart and vibrant personality, she will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.  She was a woman of boundless love and joy, leaving behind a legacy of strength, laughter and kindness.
Survivors include her children, Michael McClanahan and Teresa Earlywine; grandchildren, Jason McClanahan (Rebecca), Jeremy McClanahan (Dana), Sarah McClanahan (Nick James), Caleb Lewis (Cortney), Desaray Earlywine and Paige Earlywine; and five great-grandchildren.
