The fact that the Montgomery County Indians finished 19-3-1, won the Region 10 title and battled eventual state champion Covington Catholic to the wire in the round of 16 matchup in the state tournament obviously impressed plenty of opposing coaches.

When the voting for the 2015 Kentucky All-State Soccer Teams took place recently, the Indians had three players named to the East squad by the state’s coaches.

Coach Nick Pannell’s team placed senior forward Caswell Fuller on the first team with senior forward Alex Shkrabba making the second team and junior midfielder Zach Hill was recognized as an honorable mention selection.

Only 37 players from the eastern half of the state and 42 players from the western half were recognized from across the state.

State champion Covington Catholic had four players named to the three units along with Lexington Dunbar, Lexington Henry Clay and Woodford County.

Pannell’s team finished the year with their three losses coming at the hands of the state champion (twice) and state semi-finalist Bowling Green with a Tie against Ryle, which lost to Cov. Catholic 1-0 in the 9th Region title match.
