Two arrested in meth lab case

1/23/2015

Two people were arrested last Friday after authorities reportedly found a methamphetamine lab at their residence on Howards Mill Road.
Becky Fraley, 33, of Clay City, and Elijah Herald, 36, of Mt. Sterling, were both arrested for manufacturing meth and lodged in the Montgomery County Regional Jail. Herald is also charged with violating probation.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Det./Sgt. Ralph Charles said the case began when authorities received a call Jan. 14 about a possible meth lab on Howards Mill Road.

Authorities did find a lab and a clandestine lab cleanup team made up of officers from the sheriff’s office and Mt. Sterling Police performed a cleanup at the site, Charles said.
The investigation led authorities to a trailer home at 5187 Howards Mill Road where officers attempted to make contact with the residents, he said.

Jason Oney from the Office of Probation and Parole went to cover the back of the residence when he reportedly found a lab hanging from the back door, Charles said.
Fraley and Herald were the residents of the home and were arrested.
Charles said Herald had previously been arrested on similar charges in Powell County but they were reduced to a lesser offense.

As a result he is charged with a first offense of manufacturing meth as is Fraley.
