Delphia Marie Jones, 81

Delphia Marie Jones, 81, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at her residence.

Born Dec. 13, 1943, in Mt. Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Baker and Callie Willoughby.  She attended Eastland Church of God.   She worked at Cowden’s for 16 years as a seamstress, and the Montgomery County Courthouse.  She loved her family and spending time with them.  She enjoyed her friends, and was an avid UK basketball fan.

Survivors include her son, Ricky Jones of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Joyce Lee (Richard) of Mt. Sterling; brothers, Elwood Baker of Jeffersonville and John Baker (Loraine) of Mt. Sterling; sister, Ruthie Shelly of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, David Jones, Rebecca Harms (Josh), Ashley Miller (Paul) and Aaron Roberts (April); and great-grandchildren, Katelin Jones, Levi Harms, Koltyn Roberts and Tenley Roberts.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gilbert Jones; brother, Floyd Baker Jr.; and sisters, Bonnie Richardson, Betty Baker and Fern Jones.

Service was conducted Tuesday, April 29, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Hendrix and Rev. Jesse Kline officiating.  Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Denny Shelly, Larry Shelly, Ritchie Lee, Josh Harms, Donnie Jones Jr. and Austin Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were Vicki Grooms, Cheryl Ricketts, Betty Staton, Jackie Wolford, Laverne Hutson and Mary Havens.
